Social Security's Definition of Disabled
First, the SSA must determine whether you are working. If your earnings are more than $1260 a month, you typically do not qualify as disabled. If you are not working, your application must go to the Disability Determination Services office. James Trauring & Associates, LLC, is here to help you make this determination before submitting your application. The SSA will also evaluate how severe your condition is and if it is on our list of medical conditions.
Some of the most common conditions are:
- Anxiety
- Auto-immune Disorder
- Bipolar Disorder
- Cancer
- Chronic Fatigue
- Chronic Pain
- Connective Tissue Disease
- Depression
- Diabetes
- Fibromyalgia
- Heart Disease
- Hepatitis C
- HIV
- Lumbar and Cervical Spine disorders
- Lung Disease
- Lupus
- Lyme Tick Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Osteoarthritis of the joints
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Spinal Injuries
The SSA looks at work history and your ability to work before your injury or condition developed and your ability to work now. They also look at other types of work you could do despite disability or impairment.
